This Privacy Policy explains how DogScan ("DogScan", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the DogScan mobile application (the "App").

1. Overview

DogScan identifies dog breeds from photos and lets you revisit past scans as your scan history. Breed classification runs on your device, but your scanned photo and scan results are also uploaded and stored so your scan history can sync back to you. DogScan also offers an optional Premium subscription.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Information created when you use the App

• Photos you capture or select for breed scanning
• Breed prediction results, confidence scores, and scan date/time
• Optional scan history entries you choose to keep (visible in "Scan History")

2.2 Device/account identifiers

• An anonymous device identifier (via Firebase Anonymous Authentication) used to associate your scan history with your device — this is not your name, email, or phone number

2.3 Camera & Photo Library permissions

• Camera — to scan dog images
• Photo Library — to allow selecting an existing image to scan

These permissions are used only for the core scanning functionality of the app.

2.4 Subscription & purchase information

If you subscribe to DogScan Premium, purchase and entitlement status (for example, which plan is active and its renewal date) is processed by Apple's App Store and our subscription provider, RevenueCat, to verify and manage your subscription. DogScan does not directly receive or store your payment card details.

2.5 Diagnostics & usage data

DogScan uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage and to diagnose crashes. This may include device type, OS version, app usage events, and crash/diagnostic logs.
